Any one have any ideas as to what might be wrong with my eggplant? After looking disgustingly healthy the leaves are turning yellow and then brown and I rather suspect it might be dying. It's been really dry here so I've been watering it daily (same as everything else in the garden) ... I'm wondering if I've been underwatering, overwatering, or if it has some disease. I've grown them before with no probs, so I'm thinking it might be disease.

Is there anything I can do to stop it from dying? I was looking forward to having some eggplants in a few weeks time :/

Oh, and I'm in the southern hemisphere (northern New Zealand) if that helps.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. Do they affect eggplants? I looked it up and it mostly came back with impacts they have on squash.

Solinaceous plants are really susceptible to fusarium and verticillium wilt. Check this out for more info: http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/3000/3122.html

Yeah, I wondered if it might be this when I was googling. I was hoping not, as I've got tomatoes and potatoes in the same bed, and there doesn't seem to be much you can do about it :(

something to consider is that you're probably over watering your plants. Back off, let the soil dry between waterings, a plant can have wilt from over watering, as well as under.

Well I did wonder, but I've backed off and it's still dying. I think the previous commenter might have given me the answer. Thanks anyway :)
